How do I book my bus ticket?


• Brazilian passengers: Brazilians can present RG, national driving license, work permit, Brazilian passport; professional identity card, identity card issued by ministry or agency, RIC or other ID with photo that is recognized as legal document nationally. • Foreigner passengers: Foreigners can submit the passport number, Foreign Identity card ( CIE ), diplomatic or consular identity, official document from the country of origin, CIE application protocol issued by the Federal Police with validity of 180 days from the date expedition, other legal travel document. Important: It is important to remember that it is necessary to carry the original document with photo used during the booking. Documents are needed at the time of the ticket´s withdrawal and once the passenger is boarding.

National Payment: • National Credit Card - Visa, MasterCard, American Express , Diners Club , Discover , Aura , JCB , Link; • Bank slip - Payment is made in cash though a brazilian account. Pay attention to the expiration date of the slip, which is subject to approval within 5 working days; • PayPal Brazil - Payment can be made by credit card. National and international credit cards are accepted. International Payment: • PayPal International - PayPal is, currently, the only way a foreign person can pay. You can book up to 5 bus tickets return in one transaction. In case you need to book more tickets, please start a new order.

When the booking is finished and approved, it means that your seat was successfully booked. You can check your order t "My Account", there you´ll find details of your trip, the order status, print the voucher and cancel your ticket if necessary. • National payment (brazilian credit card, bank slip or PayPal Brazil): Credit card: After the payment, you will receive your travel voucher by email; PayPal Brazil: After the transaction is made, you will receive the voucher by email and a PayPal payment confirmation; Bank slip: The seats will be reserved until the slip payment due date, you will receive a pre voucher by email . Within five days after payment, you will receive the final voucher . Remember to pay attention to the expiration date of the ticket , if payment is not made on time , the chair is released. • International payment (PayPal International): Once the booking is confirmed, you´ll receive the travel voucher by e-mail.

To book your bus ticket you simply need to select the city of origin, the destination, date wanted and search. We'll show you the options and you'll just need to choose the one that fits you better and proceed.

The bus types change the description according to the bus company and the chosen route. In BrasilbyBus.com site you can check them all. The most common are: • Conventional ( CONV CONV AR.): The simplest and the cheapest bus type. In general, the seats are cuchioned and it reclines. May or may not have air conditioning and toilet, it will depend on the route and bus company chosen. • Executive ( EXE, EXE GTV): Despite air conditioning, cuchioned seats that recline more than a conventional bus and pressurized toilet, some companies even offer mineral water. • Half Sleeper: Categorized as "Executive" by some bus companies, these buses have larger and more confortable seats that recline almost completely. Air conditioning , bottled water and other items such as blankets and pillows (for some companies) are also included. • Sleeper: The most comfortable bus type, it offers air conditioning, wider and fully reclining seats with leg rest, TV and DVD player. It also provides blankets, pillows, mineral water and a little snack.

My reservation


For payments made with PayPal, the approval happens within few minutes. Once it´s done, you´ll get your travel voucher by email.

The voucher shows all the information needed for your bus trip: the reservation number, order status, bus company, passengers names and document number, data of the trip, time and seats chosen.

The voucher is sent to your e-mail once the payment is processed and approved. You can also access the voucher at "My Account" and print it, resend it or cancel your trip. If you don´t get it by email, please contact us at contato@brasilbybus.com.

No, you don´t need to carry the printed voucher with you, but we advise you to have it (printed or on phone) to prevent any kind of misunderstanding.

It´s not possible to change the date of your trip online, to do that you need to contact the bus company chosen. The company doesn´t charge for date exchange if the original date hasn´t passed. If the change is made after the travel day, the company has the right too charge up to 20% of the ticket price.

The travel day

To get your bus ticket you need to go to the company´s booth at the bus station primer to your departure, present the original document that you made the purchase and withdraw your printed tickets.

In case you miss the bus, you have up to 1 year to use the ticket again. If you change the date of the trip before the original date, no extra fees are charged. If the original date has passed, the company has the right to charge up to 20% of the ticket to book it again.

We advise you to arrive at the bus station approximately one hour in advance. During holidays it can be considered to arrive even earlier, as the bus stations get more crowded and with larger queues.

Each passenger is allowed to carry up to 30kg of luggage in the trunk and up to 5 kg as hand luggage, since it keeps the comfort, safety and hygiene of others. If the weight exceeds the allowed, the passenger will pay up to half a percent of the conventional ticket price for each extra kilogram.

To get your tickets and to go on board , it is essential to present the original ID with photo with which you purchased your ticket (check out the accepted documents). Minors: Children under 12 years traveling accompanied by family members or legal guardians must present a photo ID or birth certificate ( original or certified copy). It is necessary that the companion presents photo ID to prove paternity or a document proving to be the child's legal guardian. Children and young people under 18 traveling unaccompanied must present an authorization from parents or legal guardian prove issued by the Juvenile Court and RG or original birth certificate or certified copies.

Tickets cancellation


The passenger has the right to receive the ticket price refund when canceled up to 4 hours before the trip at BrasilbyBus.com (My account) or 3 hours before directly at the bus company´s booth. It's important to notice that you can only cancel an entire order online. If you want to cancel only part of it, you’ll have to do it straight with the bus company responsible for your tickets.

Important: In case of withdrawal and cancellation of the tickets 24h after the order approval, the convenience fee will not be refunded, whether the cancellation is made by the portal BRASIL BY BUS or directly with the bus company responsible for the bus route and ticket.

The refund is requested automatically once the cancellation is done at BrasilbyBus.com for tickets paid with credit card or PayPal, and credited on your next opened credit card bill. If the payment was made by bank slip, you need to send an email to contato@brasilbybus.com requesting a refund, which will be made by deposit in a bank account. If the cancellation is made ​​directly at the bus station, the refund is made up to two weeks from the moment BrasilbyBus is notified by the bus company.

If the seats reserved are occupied, the elderly will be entitled to a minimum discount of 50 % (fifty percent ) of the bus ticket price in the conventional vehicle. The reservation of tickets for the elderly can only be made directly with the bus company . The request for gratuity must be made ​​up to 3 hours before the departure time, and the request for the 50% discount must be made 6 hours in advance if the journey has 500km and 12 hours before the event if the routeexceed this mileage.

If your bus trip delays over 3 hours or if it is sold over a ticket for the same seat, it is the obligation of the chosen bus company to provide food for the passenger during the waiting time. If the trip can not be made on the same day, the bus company will have to pay for hosting costs too.
